Frequently Asked Questions

You can pay with advance payment (bank transfer), PayPal, Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Maestro, Bancontact, eps-transfer, Ideal, Klarna invoice, Sofort, Shop Pay, Apple Pay and Google Pay.

As a rule, for all available orders for which we receive payment by 12:00 PM, we ship on the same day. Within Germany and the EU, we ship with DHL. DHL states a delivery time of 1-2 business days for national shipments. Outside the EU, we ship with FedEx. Express delivery is also possible here at an additional cost.

Please note that once the packages have been handed over to the parcel service provider, we no longer have any influence on the delivery time.

Within Germany, shipping is free for orders over 100 Euros.

For orders up to 99.99 Euros, a flat fee of 4.50 Euros applies. Goods that fit into an envelope (e.g., a pair of shoulder pads) are sent as a letter. The cost for this is 2.75 Euros.

Within the EU, shipping costs a flat rate of 6.99 Euros.

Shipping costs to Switzerland, Norway, and the United Kingdom are a flat rate of 10 Euros (net).

Shipping costs for the USAare a flat rate of 15 Euros (net).

We ship worldwide, but unfortunately, due to cost reasons, we are unable to offer a flat shipping rate for all countries, as prices vary extremely.

Therefore, if your country is not offered during checkout, please feel free to contact us, and we will calculate the individual shipping costs for your order.

This is completely non-binding.

Yes, we ship worldwide. German VAT will automatically be deducted from the price at the end of the ordering process.

When shipping to non-EU countries, additional fees (customs duties, taxes, presentation fees) may apply, over which we have no control. In accordance with trade laws, we always state the correct value of goods in all documentation.

We offer a 10% discount on all items in the online shop for parents of twins or multiple births. For this, we require the birth certificates of the children or the relevant pages from the maternity record. If you are interested, please send a short email to info@girasol.de.

Specialists such as babywearing consultants and midwives can purchase GIRASOL products from us at a preferential price. If you are interested, please send us an email with your training certificate to info@girasol.de and we will send you individual discount codes for our online shop.

After your order has been shipped, you will receive an email with the tracking number from the shipping company.

For all buyers with a shipping address within the EU: You can return your order within 14 days of receipt without giving any reasons.

Please note: The item must be returned in new condition - with all accessories, instructions, and packaging. Please do not wash the product if you are not yet sure whether you want to keep it!

Please include the enclosed return form, fully completed, with your return. We will refund the order value within five working days of receipt of the return to the payment method originally used. The cost of the return must be borne by you.

Exception: In the case of complaints and incorrect deliveries, we will, of course, cover the costs of the return. In this case, it is absolutely necessary to contact us in advance (info@girasol.de) so that we can send you a return label.

To simplify the process, please state your order number or invoice number, the item in question, and - if possible - a photo of the defect in your email. We will contact you as soon as possible to find a solution.

Outside the EU, we unfortunately cannot grant a right of withdrawal. This is because we would otherwise also have to refund the shipping costs, and these were usually already higher than what we charged you. We would also potentially have to pay customs duties, etc., for re-importation.

Please simply contact us if you (non-EU) wish to return items. We will try to find a solution together with you.

In general, trying on is of course the best option (possibly with expert help from a babywearing consultant).

However, there are also some general statements that can help when choosing the right length:

- If several people want to use a wrap, the size selection should be based on the tallest or largest person.
- Very long is not always good. The more unused wrap you have to pull through the knot, the harder it is to maintain tension.
- Most of our customers achieve very good results with newborns using the Front Wrap Cross Carry technique fastest (i.e. without hours of practice). The majority of users need a size 6 (4.60 m) wrap for this babywearing technique. Small and delicate people may find a size 5 (4.20 m) sufficient, while tall and/or people from dress size 44 upwards may need a size 7 (5.20 m).

If you have any uncertainties, you can contact us at any time. Just send us an email to: info@girasol.de
We are happy to help you!

Our wraps are generally about 20 cm to 30 cm longer than stated. This is because the fabric usually shrinks a little during washing or the weave becomes denser. This way, we can guarantee that the wrap will still be the length you need, even after intensive use.

Our ring slings are about 20 cm longer than stated. The reason is the same as for the wraps.

In contrast to most other manufacturers, all GIRASOL products are 100% handcrafted under fair trade conditions.

This includes everything from dyeing the yarns and weaving the wraps to sewing the baby carriers and their accessories.

Thus, each product is unique, and connoisseurs can even discern the different rhythm of individual weavers when they examine one of our wraps!

Over time, familial relationships developed with the employees in Guatemala, and even today, the company management maintains personal contact with every single employee.

We have more than 30 years of experience in manufacturing baby wraps and are proud to offer high-quality wraps in great colors and designs – and in doing so, contribute to preserving the traditions of this craftsmanship as well as traditional designs.

Yes, so-called exclusive weaves are of course possible! If you also want to design a completely individual design for your shop, your online store, your Facebook group, and much more, we are the right contact for you!

For further information, please do not hesitate to contact us.

No, you don't have to worry! Since our cloths are woven and not knitted, there is no risk of anything unraveling. You can simply cut off the protruding thread.

As the yarns of our cloths are hand-dyed, no continuous yarn is used, but rather a new thread must be tied to the old one if necessary. Small knots on the cloth are therefore a sign of quality rather than a defect. Every cloth / every Mysol undergoes a final quality control in Berlin, where every square centimeter is inspected for defects. Only when it is decided here that everything is in order does the cloth go on sale as a first-choice product. Nevertheless, in exceptional cases, a loose thread or another flaw may be overlooked.

If in doubt, please always contact us with a photo (info@girasol.de) so that we can assess whether it is a characteristic of handcraft or actually a defect.

Sustainable business practices and environmental protection are very important to us. When producing our baby wraps, and our MySol® and WrapMySol baby carriers, this includes trying to avoid waste or using remnants to make cushion covers, bags, or even shoulder pads. For environmental reasons, we do not use outer packaging.

Recently, our product range has also been supplemented with products made from recycled cotton and models dyed with plant-based dyes.

When caring for our products, we recommend choosing a low washing temperature and liquid organic detergents (without optical brighteners, petrochemical surfactants or other ingredients, synthetic fragrances, colorants, and preservatives) – to protect both the product and the environment.

For shipping, we use paper-based packaging tape and recyclable cardboard boxes, and we recycle cardboard boxes whenever possible and avoid plastic.

Since promotional materials often end up in the bin, we do without them and instead rely on personal recommendations from our customers, retailers, and babywearing consultants.

We also focus on sustainability in our general business operations: In our shop and warehouse, we use green electricity, and our internet provider also uses electricity from hydropower in its data centers.

Our fabrics are made from cotton that is not organically certified – and this is a deliberate choice: In the regions where our fabrics are traditionally handwoven, there is no organic cotton cultivation. Importing it from other parts of the world would contradict the idea of sustainability.

For us, sustainability means more than just a certificate.

We focus on fair working conditions, long-standing, trusting relationships with our weavers, and production that also benefits the local community.

Our materials are free from harmful substances and are subject to regular, strict controls, because your baby's health is our top priority. That's why many midwives recommend our baby wraps and carriers with full conviction.

We would be happy to tell you more about our partner program. Send us an inquiry now using the contact form.

What do the different weave types mean?

Twill

Twill

Twill wraps have a fabric weight of approximately 215 g/m². They are suitable for newborns as well as for toddlers later on (then possibly tied in multiple layers). These wraps are particularly suitable for beginners; they are easy to tie and easy to care for.

Diamond

Diamond

The diamond weave is more complex to produce by hand, which is why slings of this weave are usually a little more expensive than twill weaves. The surface weight is approx. 228 g/m². Diamond weave slings are particularly cuddly even without much breaking in. The diamond weave is wonderfully suitable for newborns. For very heavy children and single-layer carrying methods, diamond weave slings are no longer our first choice. Diamond weave with double weft is an exception, of course.

Herringbone

Herringbone

The herringbone weave is also more complex to produce, which is why herringbone wraps are slightly more expensive than cross-twill woven wraps. Herringbone wraps are particularly cuddly from the start, which is why they make excellent newborn wraps (excluding double weft). But even with heavier children, herringbone wraps still perform well, especially with multi-layer carries (e.g., Double Hammock). The fabric weight is approximately 210 g/m².

Wabenstruktur

Wabenstruktur

Honeycomb weave is more elaborate to produce by hand, which is why scarves of this weave are usually somewhat more expensive than twill scarves. The fabric density is about 217 g/m². Honeycomb scarves are suitable from birth. They can be compared particularly well with diamond weave scarves.

Double Weft

Double Weft

What's special about our Double Weft wraps is – as the name suggests – that twice the number of weft threads are used. This creates wraps with a significantly increased fabric weight, making them particularly suitable for heavier children. For this reason, they are very popular, as the comfort for the wearer can be enormously enhanced with a double weft wrap.

We recommend wraps in this weave from about 8 kg. Before that, in our opinion, the wraps are too thick and heavy for the little ones. Double weft wraps are also sometimes not as cuddly from the start and change their feel once they are well broken in.

Double Weft wraps can be made in all our weaves (cross twill, diamond twill, herringbone, honeycomb).
